Smoke of Revolution is the current ongoing storyline set within the Wardokverse's A Place Beyond the Light series. The story follows the chaotic and rapidly industrializing conflict within the Kingdom of Ardenia.

After a devastating civil war twelve years prior, Ardenia now faces threats from all sides: the fanatic Eclipse Cult spreading corruption from the Roake mines, and a full-scale invasion by the Albion Empire seeking to claim the continent's rich Lumite resources. Amidst this turmoil, an otherworlder named Asep involuntarily dragged into the regional conflict while craving for tobacco. He had to joins the Castalia Mercenary Company for money and accidentally sparked Industrial and Military Revolution amids the escalated Arm Race. Together with various comrades along the way, they must drag a barely renaissance-world kicking and screaming into the industrial age to survive the encroaching darkness.

       Castalia Mercenary Company

Based in the trade town of Loriana, the Castalia Mercenary Company is a highly disciplined private military organization led by Commander Zachary Valente. Born from the ashes of the Ardenian Civil War, Castalia operates with a strict code of honor. They are currently the vanguard defending Ardenia against the Eclipse Cult and the Albion Empire, forming the "Coalition of the Unwilling" and ushering in an era of magi-mechanical warfare through their highly chaotic R&D Division.
